With the advancement of technology the work load of the human resource department has been reduced. Biometric Scanning Technology is used in organizations to cut down the cost of manual systems as well as cumbersome plastic cards. Biometrics Solutions has been introduced by Softsworks Workforce Solutions. Every organization wants a secure system which is accurate in maintaining records and at the same time can monitor an employee’s working hours. It has always been difficult to maintain paper work and the password system is equally tough to maintain. The biometric technology has helped to reduce the work of passwords as well as paper work and completely remove the use of cumbersome plastic cards. For effective time management policies many organizations have introduced biometric finger readers. The employee uses his finger for identification. This system is easy to use and secure because each individual is identified on the basis of his fingerprint.
The biometric software helps the human resource department to keep a check on each employee. It is easiest way to check an employee’s clock-in and clock-out time. At the same time, this system is convenient to maintain. In the case of cards, employees usually lose the cards and in the case of passwords, the employees tend to forget the passwords. The company can also save on costs because it does not need to maintain the passwords of the employees and the cumbersome card system which are both very expensive.
The biometric technology helps in protecting the business as confidentiality and privacy within the organization is maintained. Each employee within the organization can protect its data with the personal PIN provided through this system. Evolving technology is a blessing in disguise for every company because it acts as barrier and eliminates the chance of other employees clocking in and out instead of their colleagues. The system is based on the verification of individual finger patterns and each individual has a unique ridge pattern. No two fingers can be similar and so no employee can punch in for another employee.
An electronic image of the finger enrolled is created by the system so when someone clicks on the biometric system the sensor first reads the finger pattern. Once the finger pattern is identified then that individual is given the permission to enter the office. The information of the finger is first encrypted, then compressed and saved in the sensor’s memory which helps in identifying employees.
This system is efficient, affordable and reliable. Thus, the biometric system helps in securing the enter building be it an office building or a residential building.
